Step 1: Uninstall Suspicious Programs

  1. Windows 10 / 11:

    • Press Windows + I to open Settings.

For Google Chrome:

  1. Open Chrome and click the three vertical dots (menu) in the top right corner.

For Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Open Firefox and click the three horizontal lines (menu) in the top right corner.
  2. Select Add-ons > Extensions.
  3. Find any suspicious extensions and click Remove.

  1. Open Edge and click the three dots in the top right corner.
  2. Select Extensions.
  3. Look for suspicious extensions and click Remove.

Step 3: Clear Browser Data

  1. Google Chrome:

    • Open Chrome and go to Settings.
    • Scroll down and click Advanced.
    • Under Privacy and Security, click Clear browsing data.
    • Choose All time and select the types of data you want to clear (e.g., browsing history, cached images, cookies).
    • Click Clear Data.
  2. Mozilla Firefox:

    • Open Firefox and go to the menu.
    • Select Options > Privacy & Security.
    • Under Cookies and Site Data, click Clear Data.
  3. Microsoft Edge:

    • Open Edge and go to Settings.
    • Click Privacy, Search, and Services.
    • Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear and click Clear Now.

Step 4: Reset Your Browser Settings

Sometimes, malware modifies your browser settings to ensure its pop-ups keep appearing. Resetting the browser can help.

  1. Google Chrome:

    • Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset Settings.
    • Click Restore settings to their original defaults.
  2. Mozilla Firefox:

    • Go to Help > Troubleshooting Information > Refresh Firefox.
  3. Microsoft Edge:

    • Go to Settings > Reset Settings > Restore settings to their default values.
